Reflections of Christ

My friend shared this video with me and I absolutely love it! Make sure the voulme is up. The music is one of my all time favorite hymns.

I love aprons! They are my new version of shoes. In the past, when shopping I could not resist a cute pair of shoes. My new temptation is aprons! I feel like the food I make tastes better if I am wearing a cute apron while I make it. I often wish I could just wear one of the cute aprons I have out an about to run errands. Here are some of my recent favorites that I look at on the internet at least once a week. I really want to try to design and sew my own unique version this summer, with the assistance of my mother, of course. She is an excellent seamstress. I haven't bought an apron recently; maybe I need to have a little dinner party and that will be my excuse to buy another one!

I love my job!

I just got back from a wonderful vacation and I had so much fun. In the past, I would have been so sad to go back to work, but with my new job this year, things are different. I could not wait to get back to school today so I could see my students reaction to what had "hatched" out of the cocoons they had made (toilet paper rolls) before spring break . They were so excited to see that their caterpillars had turned into butterflies (painted coffee filter wings added on by me early this morning). It is amazing to see the simple things that amaze and delight three and four year olds! We played a game today during our speech lesson and the students each had a picture of corn on the cob with a word on the back, it was so funny because as the corn was being handed out, three of the kids tried to eat the corn like they were eating real corn on the cob! They were so disappointed when we told them it was not real and they could not eat it. Another thing that brightened my day was the return of our class pet. The little boy who took him home over the break was so happy to show me the pictures of him with the class pet on the scrapbook page his mom made. The picture below shows me cutting peaches with our "class pet" Coco the monkey in my apron pocket. The students in my class LOVE the class pet and they get so excited when it is their turn to take it home for the weekend! Children are so easy to please!

We went to the Braves game at Turner Field in Atlanta. It was tons of fun. I don't know if I had more fun watching the game or all the people around us. The cutest family from Alabama was sitting in front of us. We also had the biggest Braves fans in front of us. They were dressed in head to toe Braves gear, the wife even had a Braves purse.

We stayed at he nicest resort in Hilton Head, SC. I loved it! We were right on the beach.

This is the view from our hotel room. Amazing!

Savannah, GA

I love this place! We have only been here two days and we have eaten at Paula Deen's restaurant, Lady and Sons on both days. We sat in the bar the first night, but we got right in. We stood in line this morning but we got a lunch reservation. On Monday night I had the buffet, which was amazing and then today at lunch I had the chicken pot pie (pictured below) Amazing! I will write and add more later!

Spring, Spring, Spring!

I am so sick of the snow! I cheer up every time I look at this bulletin board that my students decorated in my classroom. I love art projects that are made entirely by the kids. In case you couldn't tell, these bugs are original works of art!
